Christian Ministries Center
We are open on Monday mornings only each week, to serve those in our communities that need a little help with food or clothing. We are open during the hours of 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. We require a photo id, and a bill that establishes your address, to meet the Federal and State requirements to serve you. However, we are a 501c3 Non-Profit ministry and not a Federal agency. We are open on most Mondays, except for Federal Holidays, and days where the weather is so bad they close the County schools. We do not discriminate on race, religion, creed, or any other criteria, but we reserve the right to serve whomever we wish. We now serve every four weeks, and we will serve you in your vehicle since our center is close quarters and Covid is still going strong. We do take contributions of cash, or checks and donations of food and new or gently used clothing. We will allow our clothing clients to come in. but we ask that you wear a mask while you are in our building, we will furnish you a mask if you do not have one. Since we purchase food supplies from the West Alabama Food Bank we do require that you fill out our short forms for service since we have to follow Federal guidelines to purchase USDA food supplies. If you have any questions, you are welcome to call our phone line on Mondays at 205-554-7706. Our answering machine will take call on other days. We do not give out money in any form for any bills, and we do not keep any on the premises. We encourage you to contact other agencies in the county for those services.
Disaster Relief Trailer
We are active supporters of the Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief organization. Our volunteers support the mission of helping the hurting folks involved in disasters both here, across our State, and across the Nation. We have active volunteers who pay their way to disaster sites to help provide needed resources of feeding, chain saw teams, spiritual care with our Chaplains, and clean up and mud out resources with folks who experience floods. This is provided without any charge. We were able to purchase this trailer for our Chain Saw, and Mud out teams to use to take supplies and equipment to the Disaster site. You are welcome to support our own Associational team with funds to help or can help provide funds to those who have suffered the disaster either through our Association or through our State Board of Missions. 100% of your funds will go exactly where you want them to go. We take out nothing unless you give us permission to help fund our Associations teams. Send donations to Pleasant Grove Baptist Association and mail it to P.O. Box 97, Brookwood, AL 35444-0097, and designate on the memo line what you want it to go for.
